The Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies (CAPRS) – Tāwharau Whakaumu was honoured to participate in the Advancing Equity: Social Determinants in Migrant and Refugee Health Research Symposium, held at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) on 21 November 2025.

The symposium was co-hosted by the AUT’s Migrant and Refugee Health Research Centre (MRHRC) and the New Zealand Policy Research Institute (NZPRI), bringing together a diverse group of more than 250 researchers, community leaders, professionals, practitioners, and policymakers. The event provided a valuable platform to share innovative research, strengthen cross-sector partnerships, and explore pathways to improve health outcomes and advance equity for migrant and refugee communities in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.

CAPRS had the opportunity to host a stall at the symposium, showcasing its work and engaging with attendees from across academia, policy, and community sectors. We extend our sincere thanks to MRHRC and NZPRI for co-hosting this important event and for creating a space to connect, share knowledge, and advance collective efforts toward health equity for migrant and refugee communities.
