This recognition highlights the university’s commitment to supporting students with refugee backgrounds through initiatives such as the Undergraduate Targeted Admission Schemes (UTAS), bridging courses, and scholarships. Dr. Gül İnanç, co-director of the Centre for Asia Pacific Refugee Studies (CAPRS), emphasized the importance of expanding access to higher education for displaced youth, noting that such opportunities lead to knowledge, skills development, and social cohesion.
